Abstract: As the rapid improvement of informatization and computer aided design in construction industry, the conversion and upgrading from two-dimensional to three-dimensional has become the inevitable trend of engineering design and construction, the collaborative designing based on the 3D(three-dimensional) would bring technological revolution for the construction industry. This paper mainly introduces application of 3D collaborative designing in cement engineering, including the design way, the design process and the idea of 3D collaborative design, establishing seamless communication between designing and construction, realizing the effective interaction of information, reducing the fault rate, improving design quality, and decreasing the project cost. All of these advantages of 3D collaborative design would bring the project management to a high level.
