Abstract: The sensitivity analysis on influence of 10 parameters upon economical thermal insulation thickness for cement plant has been carried out, based on the pipe and plane economical thermal insulation thickness models, aiming for the quantified influencing characteristics. Results show that pipe diameters and economical thermal insulation thicknesses both have influences on results calculated by pipe and plane economical thermal insulation thickness models. The relative divergence of results ranges from 5% to 38.6% with the pipe diameter of 1000mm (required in GB/T 8175-2008) and within 20% while the economical thermal insulation thickness is less than 200mm. The heat price, yearly interest, paying back period and air velocity have little influence. However, the fluid temperature, pipe diameter, ambient temperature, as well as the thermal conductivity and investment price of thermal insulation layer should be paid more attention to while designing the economical thermal insulation thickness for cement plant.
