Abstract: This study analyzed the important function both of gas-solid heat transfer mechanism and the dispersion plate during cement pyro process. Three types of flat dispersion plate structural features are discussed including conventional fixed type, rotatable type installed by a rotating shaft, and adjustable angle fixed by a top pin shaft, as well as the related problems of poor material adaptability, potential blockage, and uneven material distribution and etc. Improvement is achieved in terms of increased tortuosity of spreader, height and distribution area for materials by redesigning it into sector spreader and introduced into an umbrella rib framed guide plate. These modifications reduce material agglomeration while enhancing uniformly material distribution and heat transfer efficiency. Practical implementation demonstrates that this new spread plate structure enhances cement clinker production efficiency while reducing the system energy consumption. Therefore, it will be widely applied in future.
