Abstract: Styrene-acrylic latex modified cement mortar for repair was prepared using compound technology and its properties were studied. The influence of polymer emulsion, metakaolin, calcined bentonite and other additives on the physical properties of mortar were discussed. Experimental results show that the addition of styrene-acrylic latex can significantly improve the workability and reduce water requirement for cement mortar although it reduces the compressive strength of cement mortar to some extent. The mechanical properties of mortar can be improved by the introduction of additives with pozzolanic activities such as metakaolin or calcined bentonite.
