Abstract This paper introduces the hazardous and complex characteristics of hazardous waste, summarizes the latest domestic policies on hazardous waste disposal, and analyzes the development status of disposal capabilities and technical routes of common disposal methods such as comprehensive utilization of hazardous waste, incineration, materialization, landfill and collaborative disposal of cement kiln. The new technologies of plasma gasification and melting, supercritical water oxidation and resource utilization and their development prospects are prospected.
