A certain 4 500t/d clinker production line in China the raw mill is TRM53.41. There are problems such as air leakage, large particle size of limestone, low efficiency of circulating fan, and high dam ring in this raw mill. The energy saving modification were including upgrading the sealing between the grinding roller and the shell, as well as the sealing of the expansion joint, installing the “Stable” mill inlet feeder and strengthen material level control, and installing unpowered flap valves at the rejected material chute for air leakage control; as well as, taking measures such as adjusting the particle size of raw materials such as limestone and sands, replacing energy-saving fans, shortening the height of the dam ring, and replacing new low resistance nozzle ring for energy-saving technical reformation. After the reformation, the vibration of the vertical mill decreased, the negative pressure of the incoming mill decreased from 760Pa to 450Pa, and the raw mill system power consumption reduced by 2.2kW·h/t. It achieved significant improvement in economic benefits.
