Abstract The formation， appearance and property of fly ash produced from recycle fluid bed is investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis based on water demand ratio and index of strength activity. The result shows that the fly ash from recycle fluid bed has lower content of glass phase, irregular particle shape, rough surface and higher ignition loss when compared with fly ash in coal burned boiler.Fluid bed fly ash has high water demand, but low index of strength activity, a part of fly ash only with index of activity below 70.0％.The author emphasized that attention must be paid on the difference of two kinds of fly ash．
