Abstract A cement plant in southern part of China firing high-sulfur coal was investigated. Sulfur-fixed agent is one of potential solutions to reduce the operating problems related to firing high-sulfur coal. The existing forms of sulfate and its distribution in the clinker minerals were analyzed. Mechanism of sulfur-fixed agent was discussed.
