Abstract Air cooler，which has been applied in the cement industry， is a device using air as the cooling medium to cool the heat medium to the required temperature. Generally the temperature of the kiln head exhausted airflow is up to 200℃, even reaches 450℃ when the process is unstable. The airflow has the character of high temperature and dust concentration and its dust particle size is relatively large, so it is easy to wear the contacted media. The kilnhead exhausted airflow must be cooled to reach requirements before entering into kilnhead dust collector .This paper mainly discusses the selection and computing for the kilnhead air cooler and focus on the operation and maintenance of it in the cement industry.
