Abstract Using the software Fluent, an Eulerian／Lagrangian approach was employed to simulate the flame characteristics and the physical fields in the kiln In view of the alternative fuel burning, which was developed by SINOMA． When 15％ energy was replaced by alternative fuels, the simulation results show that the alternative fuels did not adversely affect the thermal system．
