Abstract In the process of industrial EPC project management, the traditional design methods, the independence between process design, architecture design and structure design etc, the lack of efficiency, precise coordination and interaction, the extensive project management and low information level increase the cost of management and the waste of resources. The EPC project management method based on BIM, by structuring a BIM platform to promote the coordination and data transmission between design department, procurement logistics department and construction site, and to control the project progress (4D) and expenses (5D) effectively, so that the company can enhance its macro control on project management with cost decreasing and benefit increasing. Through the application of 6D technology, the information management on production, operation and maintenance can be realized.
