Abstract This paper analyzes the relationship between kiln shell ovality, under tyre clearance and tyre migration; it also analyzes the influence of shell ovality on refractory lining with typical cases of kiln shell ovality affecting refractory lining. And the technical measures to reduce shell ovality and improve the service life of refractory lining are introduced.
