The combustion characteristics of coal is very complex in cement industry, the traditional coal assessment can′t be applied to evaluate it. In this paper, a new kind of coal assessment including burning intensity (I), average heating capacity (Q) and general burning index (S) has been investigated. This evaluation method is combined with furnace types of cement industry on the basis of thermal analysis tests of 60 kinds of bituminous coal and anthracite. Experimental results showed that one kind of coal with higher S, lower I and higher Q should be regarded as an ideal coal from the viewpoint of cement industry. The quantitative index is showed to the bituminous coal and anthracite in this paper. This assessment method is beneficial to the design of furnace.

Cement Technology, 2008, 1(3): 73-75.
Waste heat power generation is an effective way in energy saving and power reduction in cement industry. Providing accurate thermal parameter for waste heat power generation is the important prerequisite for designing a power generation system. So it is very important to do thermal test on waste gas parameters. In this paper, the determination of waste gas parameter for the SP and AQC exhaust heat boilers were discussed.
