Abstract: The content of free calcium oxide (f-CaO) in clinker is an important index for cement quality control. As this index cannot be realized in real-time detection online at present, it is difficult to establish effective closed-loop control of cement kiln system. Based on the conventional control scheme, a method is proposed to detect the raw materials of cement kiln components in real time based on neutron activation analysis, and then use neural network algorithm to build a soft measurement model of free calcium oxide. The TaiJi-MPC software is used to realize the method of edge control of gas, coal and meal in cement kiln system. This method can reduce the standard deviation fluctuation of f-CaO by about 10%, increase the content of f-CaO by more than 0.3%, and significantly improve economic and social benefits.
