Abstract This article introduced AWG wire specifications, cable material, cross-sectional selection and UL wire and cable markings in US electrical design standards. Combined with conventional cable selection design, it organized and analyzed the similarities and differences between American standard and Chinese standard cable selection design to provide reference for the electrical engineers in the same industry in the implementation of the US standard project.
