Abstract This paper introduces a configuration of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system based on lithium battery, which can replace the UPS system based on lead-acid battery in mostly current cement plant applications. The system is mainly composed of lithium battery pack, battery management system and UPS host. The life of lithium battery pack is more than 4 times that of lead-acid battery. With nominal energy of 5.76kWh, lithium battery can satisfy the requirement of 6 kVA UPS for continuously one-hour operation.
