Abstract In order to further improve the calculation of the carbon emissions of building materials, the CO2 emissions were statistically studied from the perspective of the entire life cycle of the building. The life cycle of the building materials was divided into four stages: production, transportation, maintenance, and dismantling. Perform auxiliary statistics to calculate the CO2 emissions of the whole life cycle of building materials. The feasibility of BIM in the calculation of carbon emissions of building materials was verified in combination with actual engineering cases of building design, and measures to reduce carbon emissions of building materials were proposed to provide a reference for further development of low-carbon building design.
