Abstract The formation mechanism of NOx in cement kilns is analyzed, and the characteristics of staged combustion technologies such as coal separation, material separation and air separation are introduced. The results of the staged combustion test of a production line in southwestern China show that the initial NOx emission concentration of the cement clinker production line burning high-sulfur anthracite is high, and the staged combustion reduces the NOx concentration before the SNCR of the cement clinker production line, and reduces the denitration load of the SNCR. The average value of staged combustion is 16.38%, and the average value of NOx before SNCR is 1 378.66 mg/Nm3.
