Abstract The calculated value of power consumption rate often deviates greatly from the actual value in design stage of cement plant's WHR power station, that will affect the economic evaluation in the project initiation stage and the technical competitiveness in the project quotation stage. Based on the analysis of the WHR power station running conditions, the load types are divided in detail, and then the calculation method of power consumption rate is improved. Compared with the actual value, the error of the improved calculation method is about 3%.
