Abstract The vibration value of roller mill reducer in our company had increased abnormally. After disassembly and inspection, it was found that the pitting corrosion and spalling of cylindrical roller bearings were serious. In the process of installing new bearings, there was a big deviation between the measured value and the test value of bearing axial clearance. After analysis and investigation, the pad was added for adjustment to make sure the clearance meet the technical requirements and then the problem was solved.
