Cement hydration is an exothermic action. The releasing period of hydration heat in cement is very long, but most of heat is released within 3 days, particularly at the initial stage of setting and hardening period. In most cases, the early volume deformation in hardened cement paste and concrete is mainly caused by temperature rising, which is from the hydration heat of cement. Therefore, lowering the hydration heat of cement concrete is an effective way to prevent its early cracking. The effect of hydration heat in cement concrete on its performance is analyzed by the author. The theoretical formula of hydration heat is given by the author. The research progress of hydration heat in cement concrete at the world is introduced, and the measures to lower the heat of hydration in cement production are pointed here. 

Method and tools of 3D design, and the character and advantage of 3D design is introduced in this paper. The prospect and application method of 3D in future cement plant design is also discussed by the author.

Tianjin Cement Industry Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. has developed a computer emulation testing bed with 3D numerical simulation function based on engineering practice. By using this system, the engineers of TCDRI engaged production commissioning on 3＃ line of Huarun Cement (Pingnan) Co., Ltd. Forecasting on temperature field distribution on precalciner is made successfully, thus provide a new method for cement plant commissioning. 

Inner structure and weakness of heat－exchange area in precalcining zone on wet－process kiln are introduced in this paper. A scheme to improve this area is pointed by the author. Based on this scheme, an improvement is made by a plant on the forced heat－exchange area on a wet rotary kiln. It is proved that the lifetime of inner lining is prolonged, and the service life of embedded dispersing plate is much improved than the original one. Both heat dispersion of kiln body and coal consumption is reduced. Thus the unit capacity of wet－process kiln and economic profit is increased.
