The 4th generation clinker cooler with middle roller crusher has many advantages, such as high heat recovery efficiency, excellent cooling effect, low power consumption and high generating capacity, etc. This advanced equipment has been widely used in the new or modified clinker production line. This article comprehensively introduced the design details of technical transformation process from the 3rd generation cooler to the 4th generation cooler, including selection principle of the first part and second elevation of the cooler, the arrangement of cooling fans and hydraulic station, connection of the hot air duct, installation of the device used to eliminate clinker block, maintenance plan of the roller crusher, and transformation of trough conveyer and related chutes.

The basic situation and structure of the 3rd generation TC grate cooler and the 4th generation Sinowalk grate cooler are introduced. After upgrading to the 4th generation grate cooler, the position of air cannon, grate plate travel, operation mode, coal quality and raw material ratio have been adjusted, so that the performance of the Sinowalk grate cooler has been fully brought into play. The clinker granulation is more uniform, the clinker temperature of the grate cooler is between 80℃ and 130℃, the heat recovery efficiency has been significantly improved, as well as the temperature of the secondary air has been raised to more than 1 200℃ and the tertiary air raised to about 900℃.

Causes of low heat recovery efficiency, high,clinker temperature and high failure rate of equipment were analyzed for Bar Grate Cooler. On the basis of making full use of the original equipment shell, fans and equipment, the Bar Grate Cooler was transformed into stepping grate cooler, and the tail hammer crusher into roller crusher, reduced the transmission power. The heat recovery efficiency of grate cooler was increased from 71% to more than 75% after the renovation, which saved the renovation cost and achieved the goal of energy saving and consumption reduction.

It introduced the source of MgO in the cement raw material of limestone. Through mathematical statistics, physical and chemical analysis, and XRD micro-cause analysis, the effects of high MgO content raw materials on cement clinker strength, clinker grinding, clinker color and other properties are studied, and the direction of technological improvement is clarified. In actual production, when the content of MgO in the raw material increases, by adjusting the batching scheme, appropriately increasing the KH and SM control values, increasing the total content of C3S and C2S, and using high-calorific value fuels, the strength and quality of the clinker can be stabilized.
